As a run up to the Oscars, Vanity Fair magazine and Freida co-hosted a special bash as part of the 14th installment of “Campaign Hollywood”, Vanity Fair’s annual, week-long celebration leading up to the Academy Awards. Known to be one of the most well attended and sought after celebratory events, Campaign Hollywood reflects the glamour, art, and excitement of Oscar Week in Hollywood, while also marking the 100th anniversary of the magazine.
With this kind of an association, Freida becomes the first actress of Indian origin to have ever hosted the Vanity Fair pre Oscar party. Called - DJ Night with Freida Pinto and Vanity Fair, the evening that kickstarted on Feb 19 evening (20th Feb India time) featured a special performance by DJ AcE.
The event is an endeavor to highlight the issue of the girl child and the importance of their education. Freida and Vanity Fair will support and will direct the funds raised to the 10 × 10, a campaign that further the education of girls around the world through film and social media advocacy which also celebrates the film Girl Rising.
